Grow Sheffield is closely related to Transition Sheffield, and provides a coordinating role for visioning and supporting urban food growing for Sheffield.

Grow Sheffield began in 2007 with the vision of encouraging urban food growing for everyone in Sheffield. Their Abundance project put Grow Sheffield firmly on the map, demonstrating what a wealth of fruit could be harvested within the Sheffield area. Now they're kicking off a Community Growers project to bring food growing expertise right into local areas.

Grow Sheffield is eager to hear from people from any area in Sheffield - see their courses and volunteering page to find out about opportunities.

Initial meeting

In March 2009 we held a meeting between Grow Sheffield and Transition to discuss how the relationship between our two organisations should develop. The notes are available below in two formats:
