There is NO outreach group yet. This is just a proposal for setting one up…


What would the outreach group do?
Be engaged in all forms of promoting Transition Sheffield such as:

  • Organising stalls at events like the Farmer's Market etc.
  • Giving talks to other community groups
  • Engaging with the local authority and connected bodies
  • Hosting up film shows/raising awareness in other areas
  • Doing stuff in the Universities
  • Press releases about Transition events
  • Leaflets and publicity


Is it not just taking over some of the hub group work?
Yes and No. The hub group isn't doing all these things yet and as a small group probably couldn't do them that effectively anyway. The outreach group would be much more dynamic, open to all. Some people might want to get involved for just one event or just one part of it. An outreach group might even end up being made up of several different groups: press, film, education etc. Maybe it would even end up having it's own hub group to coordinate the various kinds of outreach work?
