The Hub group aims include supporting new groups, providing communication between local and working groups, running the Transition Sheffield web sites, and anything else that is citywide in scope. We encourage one or two members of each group to attend the regular Hub group meetings.

Sheffield Sustainable Communities Panel – recruiting now!

This an opportunity for Sheffield people to work with Councillors and Council officers in planning Sheffield’s response to some of the important challenges facing the city such as the ageing population and the environment. See Sheffield Sustainable Communities Panel

Weekend Course: 3rd-4th October: Introduction to Permaculture

Garden design using permaculture principles with Saleema Imam and Angus Soutar.

10am-4pm, Saturday and Sunday, with lunch provided The Crescent Community Centre, St Catherine's School, Firshill Crescent, Sheffield S4 7BX map Free to parents from St Catherine's School or Firshill School. £25 to anyone outside the Burngreave area.

Both Angus and Saleema are experienced in teaching permaculture. Saleema is local to Sheffield, whilst Angus is the co-ordinating tutor for the permaculture diploma in the north. You can participate in the course as a stand-alone weekend or continue on to a full 72 hour permaculture course. The weekend will include both an understanding of design principles, and some practical experience.
